Jannik Sinner started another week as the World No. 1 player, further extending his incredible streak.
The new ATP Rankings were published after another week of exciting tennis. The Tours moved to the grass courts, starting this very short but special part of the season. First up were two ATP 250 tournaments held in 's-Hertogenbosch, Netherlands, and Stuttgart, Germany.
Most of the top players didn't participate in either of those tournaments, which is why Jannik Sinner kept his World No. 1 rank. The Italian player still has 10,880 points to his name, and it's already his 54th consecutive week as the highest-ranked player on the ATP Tour.
By extending his streak to 54 weeks, Sinner passed Novak Djokovic in the history books. During his first stint as the World No. 1 player, Djokovic held the top spot for 53 consecutive weeks between 2011 and 2012.
Sinner is now the fourth man in this statistic, having only three more legendary feats ahead of him. Roger Federer's 237 consecutive weeks might be unreachable, and the same applies to Jimmy Connors' 160 weeks. However, Lleyton Hewitt's 75 consecutive weeks as the World No. 1 are within a touching distance for the 23-year-old Italian.
Behind him is Carlos Alcaraz, who also didn't compete. The Spaniard still has 8,850 points and occupies the World No. 2 position. Alexander Zverev, who is ranked third, played at the Stuttgart Open, and reaching the final granted him 165 points. However, Zverev also lost 50 points, which means his total improved by 115 points to 6,500 points.
While the first three in the ATP Rankings didn't change, there were some changes right behind them. Taylor Fritz previously lost the World No. 4 position, but he regained it again, earning 250 points for his win in Stuttgart. He now has 4,735 points.
The American player overtook Novak Djokovic, who remained fifth with 4,630 points. Right behind the Serbian is Jack Draper, who won the title in Stuttgart last year. As he chose not to defend it, the Brit lost 250 points, dropping his total to 4,550 points.
Lorenzo Musetti also lost points for not defending his last year's semi-final from Stuttgart. As a result, he now has 4,470 points and is ranked sixth in the world. All four players ranked from fourth to seventh are very close to the crucial fourth seeded spot at Wimbledon.
There's a one-thousand-point gap behind them as eighth Tommy Paul has 3,470 points, exactly 1,000 points less than the Italian ahead of him. Holger Rune remained ninth with 3,440 points.
But there is also a new man in the Top 10 of the ATP Rankings. Ben Shelton reached the semi-finals in Stuttgart, and that was enough for him to improve to the World No. 10 position with 3,170 points.
The two movers of the week were the Libema Open finalists. Gabriel Diallo beat Zizou Bergs in the final, and they both moved to their career highs. Diallo is now ranked 44th in the world after moving up by 11 places, and Bergs is ranked 49th after a move up by 14 positions.
