The 2025 Eastbourne Open, an ATP and WTA 250 event, will not be overshadowed because several quality players are on the entry list.
From June 23rd until 28th, the Eastbourne Open will be held simultaneously with the 2025 Bad Homburg Open, a WTA 500 tournament featuring top-10 players like Iga Swiatek, Mirra Andreeva, and Paula Badosa.
However, the event in Eastbourne can hold its own due to the entry list containing four former Grand Slam winners on the women's side: Defending Wimbledon champion Barbora Krejcikova, Emma Raducanu, Jelena Ostapenko, and Sofia Kenin.
Fans can also watch men's players like Taylor Fritz and Jakub Mensik at the 2025 Eastbourne Open. The choice between men's and women's matches always leads to great crowds at the tournament, with there not being many empty seats at most matches.
Hopefully, 2021 US Open winner Raducanu will be fit for the Eastbourne Open. She withdrew from the 2025 Berlin Open due to an injury she sustained during her run to the quarterfinal at the 2025 Queen's Club Championships.
The prize money on offer for the ATP players is more substantial than for the women. There are also slight differences in points awarded to men and women.
The 2025 Eastbourne Open women's champion will collect $51,330 and 250 ranking points. Daria Kasatkina, who is on the entry list again this year, won last year's title by overcoming Leylah Fernandez in the final.
Fernandez might have been confident of victory in the 2024 final after managing a superb semifinal win against Madison Keys. However, in the semifinal, Kasatkina defeated Jasmine Paolini, who reached the Wimbledon final a few weeks later.
The 2025 Eastbourne Open WTA runner-up will receive $30,380 and 163 points. With so many strong players on the entry list, predicting which players are most likely to reach the final is challenging.
On the men's side, the winner will be given the same 250 points, but much more in prize money. The ATP champion will take home €115,165. The runner-up, on the other hand, will receive €67,160 and 165 points.
Financial rewards for the players diminish more significantly from the semifinal onwards. The two women who lost at that stage will walk away from the British tournament with £8,824 and 98 ranking points.
Raducanu, Karolina Muchova, Harriet Dart, who generated widespread attention earlier this season by complaining about 2025 French Open semifinalist Lois Boisson's smell, and Katie Boulter were the losing 2024 quarterfinalists in Eastbourne.
The women who reach at least the quarterfinal are guaranteed to earn $9,640 and 54 ranking points. All players must win two matches to reach that stage of the WTA 250 event.
There is no significant difference in the prize money amounts between the opening and second rounds. $5,885 and 30 points are on offer for the round of 16, while first-round losers will have $4,205 and one point added to their totals.
Hopefully, the women's singles at the Eastbourne Open delivers since the entry list is so good for a WTA 250 tournament. The WTA grass-court season had an exceptional opening week, including Tatjana Maria's incredible title run at the Queen's Club Championships.
37-year-old Maria entered the tournament on a nine-match losing streak, but beat Madison Keys, Elena Rybakina, and Amanda Anisimova on her way to the biggest title of her career.
