The rumors are true because Jannik Sinner has spoken for the first time about his alleged relationship with a WTA player.
The speculation about Sinner's love life became a hot topic back in Italy following his reported split from his former partner, Maria Braccini. The 22-year-old had been dating the social media influencer and model girlfriend for the last four years.
Sinner was recovering from a hip injury in Turin two weeks ago when he met with Anna Kalinskaya for the first time, although nothing concrete emerged from the reports linking them to a potential relationship.
But things took a turn when Sinner was pictured together with the Russian at a dinner in Paris, where both of them will compete in their respective singles draws at Roland Garros this week.
They were also spotted in practice ahead of their first-round matches, where they looked cheerful and all smiles. Sinner played his first match at the tournament against Christopher Eubanks, with the WTA World No. 25 looking on from the stands.
The second seed produced a solid display in his first competitive match since last month's Madrid Open, taming the big-serving American in straight sets. He saved nine of ten break points on his serve.
Kalinskaya, meanwhile, is due to play home favorite Clara Burel later on Monday on Court 14. After his opening win, Sinner paid to the rumors and confirmed to reporters during his post-match press conference that he was dating the 25-year-old from Moscow.
"You know, I don't like to talk much about my private life. Yes, I'm with Anna, but we keep everything very confidential. I won't say more."
Sinner also asked for privacy when he relayed the news during the second part of his post-match press conference with Italian journalists. He has previously stated that he prefers to keep his private life away from the public and social media.
