The 2023 Roland Garros is over and everyone is talking about the 23rd Grand Slam of
Novak Djokovic, but there have been more changes.
Specifically, in the rankings on the ATP Tour. With
his triumph in the 2023 Roland Garros final over Casper Ruud the Serb secured his 23rd major title but also
the World No. 1 spot in the
ATP Rankings. The 36-year-old currently leads with 7595 points, and his gap to the second place is 420 points.
Sitting in second place is
Carlos Alcaraz who is hungry to forget
the cramps that he had in the semifinal match against the 23-time Grand Slam champion, and he'll soon start his charge for the No. 1 spot again with the grass-court part of the season right around the corner.
Daniil Medvedev is expected to do well during that grass-court season, and despite
losing already in the first round in Paris, the Russian lost only one position, dropping to third with 6100 points and more than a 1000-point gap to both directions.
Behind him is
Casper Ruud, who is now a two-time Roland Garros finalist. Once again, the Norwegian lost to a legend, but at least, he didn't lose any points compared to the last year's edition of the tournament as he kept his 4960.
But he may drop some positions soon as
Stefanos Tsitsipas, who
lost in the quarterfinals in the French capital, is 5th with 4920 points, only 40 behind his fellow 24-year-old Top 5 member.
Outside of the Top 5, the rankings are quite packed as usually.
Holger Rune is 6th with 4375 points, but
Andrey Rublev is ready to steal that spot with exactly 4000 points to his name.
Taylor Fritz is 8th and he has 3515 points.
There's also a big fight to remain in the Top 10, and one of the players lost that fight, while the other improved.
Jannik Sinner stayed in the 9th position, and nothing changed there, but
Karen Khachanov and
Felix Auger-Aliassime swapped their positions with the Russian now 10th and Canadian dropping to the 11th position.
