WTA Race Update: Swiatek Dominates, Paolini & Krejcikova Make Massive Leap

Iga Swiatek continues her dominance of the WTA Race to Riyadh and has daylight over her closest rival, Elena Rybakina.

The Pole suffered a shock third-round defeat at this year's Wimbledon but has a 2564-point lead over second-placed Rybakina, who lost in the semifinal.

Swiatek remains the player who has amassed the most points (7465) and WTA titles (five) in the current season. Jasmine Paolini is the surprise new entrant into the top three after her unexpected run to the Wimbledon final.

Although the Italian was denied glory, she rose to a high of third in the race. The 28-year-old is also celebrating a career-high ranking of World No. 5 in the official WTA rankings.

Aryna Sabalenka will settle for fourth place despite withdrawing from the tournament on the opening day. Coco Gauff drops to fifth spot after losing to Emma Navarro in the fourth round of Wimbledon. Danielle Collins, meanwhile, retains sixth place.

Newly crowned Wimbledon champion Barbora Krejcikova vaulted an impressive 45 places to land in seventh. As per revised qualification rules, the Czech is almost guaranteed to qualify for the WTA Finals as a Grand Slam champion.

Jelena Ostapenko also impressed at Wimbledon, reaching the semifinal and losing to Krejcikova. She occupied the eighth spot. Daria Kasatkina (9th) and Qinwen Zheng (10th) fell outside the Top 10.

Donna Vekic is one of the biggest movers in the Top 20. The Croat soared 12 places to settle in 13th in the race. With qualifications for the WTA Finals well within reach, she can start to adjust her goals for the rest of the season.

Elina Svitolina also entered the Top 20, climbing nine spots to 18th and just above Jessica Pegula, whose injury-plagued 2024 has ended her spell in the world's top five in rankings. The American is also in danger of missing out entirely on qualifying for the WTA Finals.
