Novak Djokovic is known for his ability to cover the court in just a few steps, thanks to his exceptional agility and flexibility.
World No. 1 has specific stretching routines as part of his training work, which is why he has perfected the art of pulling off shots that defy physics regularly.
He can bend and not break, glide on any court, and hardly fall. Earlier this year, he was uncharitably labeled the "rubber man" by a British tabloid because of his fondness to stretch his body to limits that few of his peers can dare to mimic.
This week, Djokovic kickstarted a challenge that went viral after he was captured performing at the gym while conducting his interview on 60 Minutes. Because of widespread interest, Djokovic elected to give fans a full preview of the stretching exercise.
He invited fellow athletes and fans to test their flexibility by performing an impressive stretching move involving his legs. He called it the "challenge for the brave," many fans have shared their attempts online.
Recently, WTA star Coco Gauff joined in on the test to try and showcase her extraordinary athleticism. The 19-year-old is one of the fastest but also an incredibly flexible player on the women's tour and is known for her superb body coordination.
Gauff, who is currently trying all sorts of sports and activities during preseason, decided to put her body to the test. The stunt requires a person to stand on one leg, form some sort of perpendicular angle with the other leg, and slowly bend to touch the ground with both hands and stand again.
Then, gently, you would be required to raise the leg positioned horizontally, in a 4-shape, by lifting with one hand and stretching it fully, holding the pose for a few seconds before releasing your leg and taking a normal standing posture.
Gauff, who appears to have just completed a practice tennis session, performed the challenge almost seamlessly and shared it on Instagram. It will be interesting to hear Novak Djokovic's reaction.
