Elina Svitolina has received a wildcard entry for the 2023 Madrid Open along with several other strong WTA players.

Former world number three Svitolina received the wildcard as she continues her return to professional tennis since having her first child with ATP player Gael Monfils last year. The Ukrainian player has already featured at the Charleston Open and ITF events in Switzerland and Portugal this season, despite hinting at a possible early retirement.

Another promising entrant who has received a 2023 Madrid Open wildcard includes 2022 US Open girls champion Alexandra Eala. The 17-year-old player from the Philippines will compete at her first Madrid Open this year and she trained at the Rafael Nadal Academy since the age of 13.

Two Spanish players, Spain's Marina Bassols and Rebeka Masarova, have also received wildcard entries to this season's Madrid Open. In addition, Colombia's Camila Osorio will compete at the competition and teenagers Victoria Jiménez Kasintseva, Brenda Fruhvirtova and Mirra Andreeva complete the main draw list.

Also, six additional players will receive qualifying wildcards ahead of the 2023 Madrid Open. Carlota Martínez, Jessica Bouzas, Emiliana Arango, Aliona Bolsova, Leyre Romero and Rosa Vicens will have to work through the qualifying rounds before reaching the main draw.

The 2023 Madrid Open starts on Tuesday, April 25 and the final will be played on Sunday, May 7.
