Caroline Garcia is on a brilliant run at the 2024 Miami Open, but can she add another name to her win list when she takes on Danielle Collins?
Garcia is a very good player on her day and a very solid player on other days. She's had a couple of good days at this year's Miami Open, as she's taken down some impressive names so far.
She first defeated Naomi Osaka with a really solid and sturdy performance. Then she added another great win over Coco Gauff and now hopes to add another heavyweight name to her win list as she takes on Collins.
The American is playing her last Miami Open with high motivation. She's played really well so far and will have a decent chance of winning this one, so let's see what happens.
Head-to-head:
It's been a fascinating matchup between them in the past. As good as Garcia is, she never really found a way to play against Collins. So far, we've seen three matches, all of which were won by the American in straight sets.
The conditions in Miami favour Garcia really well, but I'm highly skeptical about her chances to produce a third great match in a row. Collins will use her quickness to attack, and I think she'll have success. She never had problems against the Frenchwoman in the past and is looking really confident this week as well.

Prediction:
Overall, I will side with Collins for several reasons. First, she's highly motivated because she will retire from tennis after this year. Second, she's playing on home soil and will have the backing of the crowd because of all the storylines in play. And finally, I just don't expect Garcia to play another stellar match.
Prediction: Danielle Collins to win in two sets.
