The 2024 Qatar Open in Doha is the first WTA 1000 tournament of the year, running from February 11th to 17th, and the draw for the event was revealed.

After the conclusion of the season's first Grand Slam, players wait for another opportunity to prove their qualities at a big stage, and they don't have to wait too long, as in February, the Qatar Open kicks off a series of WTA 1000 tournaments.

Aryna Sabalenka won the Australian Open this year, but the Belarusian won't be in Doha, as she withdrew from the tournament. However, nothing changes for the two-time defending champion, Iga Swiatek, who will be the top seed regardless.

Like the first eight seeded players, the Pole has a first-round bye, but already in the second round she can play against a Grand Slam champion, as she'll meet the winner of the match between the 2017 US Open winner Sloane Stephens and Sorana Cirstea.

On the opposite side of the draw is, in Sabalenka's absence, the second-seeded Coco Gauff. The American lost in the semifinals in Melbourne, and she'll want to prove that she's one of the best players in the world again in Qatar.

Starting in the second round, the 19-year-old, too, will play against a challenging opponent, awaiting the better between Donna Vekic and Katerina Siniakova.

There are no easy matches in Doha, and wild card Emma Raducanu knows about it. The British player will start her journey in the first round against Anhelina Kalinina, and if she wins, she'll meet the eighth-seeded Jelena Ostapenko.

Another interesting first-round match features a four-time Grand Slam champion. Naomi Osaka is still trying to find her old form, and in the first round in Doha, she will meet no other than Caroline Garcia.

The two clashed in the first round of the Australian Open, so draws have not been very nice to them. During their meeting in Australia, Garcia proved to be the better player, and while the Japanese player will now want to avenge the loss, the Frenchwoman will want to follow up on her win.

Elena Rybakina is once again playing really well at the moment, and she'll be one of the favourites also in Doha. In the second round, the third seed will play against either Varvara Gracheva or Lin Zhu. You can see the full draw for the 2024 Qatar Open below.
