Players will get a last chance to fine-tune their form ahead of the second major of the year at the 2023 Strasbourg Open from May 21st to 27th.
With preparations for the Roland Garros in full swing, some players elect to practice more while some elect to compete at a WTA 250 event shortly before the event. One of those tournaments is also the 2023 Strasbourg Open, often also referred to as the Internationaux de Strasbourg.
It's a tournament with a long history that was founded already back in 1987 and in 2023, it will be held for the 37th time. Ahead of the tournament, one thing is clear when looking at the entry list, and that's the fact that we will see a new champion.
Angelique Kerber, who triumphed in a spectacular final over Kaja Juvan last year, gave birth to her first child just recently and she's certainly not ready to return yet. However, the entry list is still full of names that can make the event really interesting.
Last year's top seed and semifinalist, Karolina Pliskova is set to compete in Strasbourg as it seems to be one of her favourite events. She will be joined by the likes of Beatriz Haddad Maia, Magda Linette, and Shuai Zhang.
But they are not the only players that want to prepare well for the Roland Garros. Also Elise Mertens, Jil Teichmann, Bernarda Pera, Anhelina Kalinina, and Marta Kostyuk will compete at the 2023 Strasbourg Open.
