From May 9th to 21st, the best players on the ATP & WTA Tours will meet for the 2023 Italian Open and fight for their share of prize money and points.

Traditionally, the event, which is often also referred to as the Rome Masters, will be played at Foro Italico and it's the last tournament of ATP & WTA 1000 level before players head to Paris, France for the 2023 Roland Garros.

Last year, Novak Djokovic lifted the trophy as the ATP champion after defeating Stefanos Tsitsipas in the final. This year, both of the players are set to compete and fight for their share of over 7 million euros distributed in prize money and 1000 points for the champion.

On the other hand, last year's WTA champion, Iga Swiatek, will fight with fellow WTA colleagues for the smaller pot as the Italian Open isn't one of the tournaments that can distribute the same amount of prize money to both men and women. Therefore, the defending champion and all her competitors will fight for only around 3 million euros.

However, what stays the same for the WTA players is the number of points given to the champion, 1000. In 2023, the tournament has been marked by some withdrawals as 10-time champion Rafael Nadal won't be playing in Rome and also home star Matteo Berrettini withdrew from the tournament.

On the other hand, Carlos Alcaraz confirmed that he would like to compete in Rome for the first time in his career, and both the ATP entry list and also the WTA entry list is full of star names such as Daniil Medvedev, Aryna Sabalenka, Holger Rune, Coco Gauff, Jannik Sinner, Jessica Pegula, and many more.

The finalists of the tournament are also rewarded well with ATP finalist getting 600 points and 580,000€ in prize money while the WTA runner-up will be awarded with 650 points and 272,200€.

The prize money and points distribution starts on 10 points and 16,340€ for men, while women are guaranteed to get at least 10 points and 7,828€. To see the full prize money and points overview for the 2023 Italian Open Rome Masters, be sure to check it out below.
