The 2025 Dallas Open, starting on Monday, will be just the fifth edition of the tournament. However, the event impressed so much that this year's iteration was granted ATP 500 status, increasing the prize money and ranking points available.

Kyle Edmund was the first champion of the tournament in 2020. The following winners were Reilly Opelka, Yibing Wu, and Tommy Paul. Paul's run last year included triumphing in an epic final against Marcos Giron.

The tournament being upgraded to 500 status for 2025 means there is a superb entry list in Texas. Last year's US Open runner-up and world No. 4 Taylor Fritz is the No. 1 seed for the 2025 Dallas Open.

Other high-profile names in the draw include Ben Shelton, who lost to the eventual champion Jannik Sinner in the 2025 Australian Open semifinal, three-time Grand Slam runner-up Casper Ruud, and Frances Tiafoe.

The quality of those players means this year's Dallas Open should be the best iteration in the tournament's history. There are also significant financial rewards on offer for the men set to compete. In total, $3,035,960 will be distributed in Dallas.

The 2025 Dallas Open champion will receive $516,165 and 500 ranking points. This is a substantial increase from the amounts given to Edmund, Wu, and Paul after winning the Dallas Open's previous iterations.

Losing an ATP final can be among the most disappointing moments that a player experiences. However, the rewards of $277,715 in prize money and 330 ranking points are a more than decent consolation for whichever man is the losing finalist.

Shelton and Adrian Mannarino were semifinalists at last year's Dallas Open. Whoever makes it that far at this year's event will collect $148,005 and 200 ranking points for their impressive efforts.

Once the quarterfinal stage is reached, the prize money will be reduced from six figures to five figures. For being among the eight best players at the 2025 Dallas Open, players will be given 100 ranking points and $75,615.

Just one victory in the main draw at the Dallas Open will be good enough to earn 50 ranking points and $40,365. That many points can sometimes decide whether a lower-ranked player makes a significant jump or not.

Zero ranking points are given to those who lose in the round of 32 at ATP 500 tournaments, but a healthy $21,525 is still on offer just for being in the main draw of the 2025 Dallas Open.

Choosing a winner at this year's tournament in Dallas is challenging. Fritz usually plays very well in American conditions, but the same is true of last year's champion, Paul, who is again on the entry list this year.

Shelton will hope to build on his momentum from the Australian Open. The 22-year-old is challenging to stop when his serve is firing. Sinner is probably the only hard-court player in the world who could have beaten him so comfortably in the Australian Open semifinal.

Despite being a former US Open runner-up, Ruud is often underrated by many on hard courts, and his chances of winning the Dallas Open should not be ruled out.
