Tsitsipas & Ruud Complete Team Europe's Line-Up For 2024 Laver Cup

Stefanos Tsitsipas and Casper Ruud are the final two players announced for Team Europe ahead of the upcoming 2024 Laver Cup in Berlin.

The event will be played in September after the US Open, starting on the 20th and running until the 22nd, and we now know what Team Europe will look like. They lost last year in Vancouver, which was the second time in a row that Team World won the competition.

It would be an understatement to say that they're motivated to right that wrong this year, especially back home in Berlin, where they will expect to get a lot of support from the European fans.

The seriousness of their intentions was highlighted by Carlos Alcaraz's early commitment to play, followed by other big names like Alexander Zverev and Daniil Medvedev, who were also joined by Rafael Nadal.

The final two players announced for Team Europe are Tsitsipas and Ruud. The Greek player has been part of Team Europe for years and claims that the Laver Cup is one of his favorite competitions.

Ruud is no stranger to playing in the unique team exhibition either, and he highlighted that he has 'unfinished business' in the brief comment for the announcement.

"It is a privilege to be part of this outstanding team and return for another shot at the title in Berlin. We have unfinished business."

Tsitsipas is also excited to be back at the Laver Cup, as he missed last year's edition due to an injury. He is excited to play alongside some great players and hopes to bring the trophy back to where it, according to him, belongs.

"I’m excited to be playing the Laver Cup again. It is an honor to be part of this team and to compete alongside so many great players."

Team Captain, Bjorn Borg, who will be replaced by Yannick Noah from the next season, will also want to say goodbye to the competition with a victory, so he was happy that these players accepted his invitation.

"Casper and Stefanos are experienced Laver Cup players who know what it takes to win points. They have been part of some intense battles and have raised the Cup in the past. I am happy to have them on the team."

For now, the full Team Europe lineup includes Alcaraz, Medvedev, Zverev, Nadal, Tsitsipas, and Ruud. For Team World, only four players have been nominated so far, and those are Alex de Minaur, Taylor Fritz, Tommy Paul, and Ben Shelton.
