The US Open will upgrade its Fan Week experience this year by introducing a mixed doubles mini-tournament.

The fourth Grand Slam of the season will take place at Flushing Meadows in New York City from August 26th to September 8th. But before the commencement of main draw action, Fan Week will take place from August 19th to 25th.

During that time, tennis fans will have the privilege of walking inside the grounds at the Billie Jean King National Tennis Centre. The tournament promises a unique event each day of the week, which also coincides with the qualifying event.

In its promotional updates, the tournament's social media pages have begun the countdown to Fan Week, during which fans will have interactive sessions with current and former players.

One of the featured events will be the mixed doubles matches, comprising of exciting pairings. Four teams have been announced, and more details about the format can be expected in the days leading up to the tournament.

Australia's Nick Kyrgios is set to partner two-time US Open champion Naomi Osaka. The former Wimbledon finalist has not played a competitive match in over a year because of multiple injuries, although he is reportedly gearing up for a return during the North American hardcourt swing in late July.

"Introducing an exciting addition to Fan Week this year: the debut of our competitive mixed doubles tournament! Featuring dynamic duos such as Naomi Osaka and Nick Kyrgios, Aryna Sabalenka and Taylor Fritz, Coco Gauff and Ben Shelton, and Stefanos Tsitsipas and Paula Badosa."

Stefanos Tsitsipas and his girlfriend Paula Badosa will also team up for this special event, as will the American duo of Coco Gauff and Ben Shelton, who are close friends away from the tennis circuit. The 2023 Tie Break Tens champions Aryna Sabalenka and Taylor Fritz will join forces again.
