At the 2022 Roland Garros, Alexander Zverev played one of the best semifinal matches against Rafael Nadal, but the match ended with an injury of the young German.

Since then, Alexander Zverev was absent from all tournaments and only recently, he was seen walking without crutches again. There's a long journey ahead of the German, but he hopes to be ready to play the 2022 US Open, the tournament where he played his only Grand Slam final so far. In an interview with RTL, he said:

"I still haven't given up on the US Open, and, of course, I want to be part of the Davis Cup for myself. That's a goal because my brother and I are also involved with the organization helped bring the Davis Cup to Hamburg," said Zverev.

"It's not difficult at all, I'm also looking forward to this work a bit, it's something completely new. It's clear that I'd rather play the tournament in Hamburg or train on the tennis court, but it's the way it is now. You have to go through it; everyone has their own way and you have to go it. That's part of what I have to do now, and maybe next year, I'll come back even stronger," Zverev concluded.
