Less than a month after their epic Olympics gold medal match in Paris, Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz will meet again on a tennis court in a blockbuster doubles match.
Djokovic and Alcaraz have been named in a four-man lineup for an upcoming exhibition match during US Open Fan Week, which will be held from August 19th to 25th, 2024.
The US Open Fan Week is usually comprised of a series of activities anchored by the qualifying tournament, but it also includes meet-and-greet sessions with famous players as the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center grounds become free and open to the public.
The tournament organizers are determined to make this the best US Open in history, thanks in part to the record-breaking prize money on offer and the re-introduction of Video Review technology in main draw matches.
One of the most anticipated featured events of Fan Week is Stars of the Open, and this time, active and retired tennis players with incredible star power will headline the show.
Djokovic and Alcaraz already know they will be opponents on a doubles court for the first time and will each team up with a Hall of Famer in a doubles match penciled for Wednesday, August 21st.
Djokovic will team up with John McEnroe. The two men have each won the US Open four times (joint second-most among men behind Roger Federer). Alcaraz, meanwhile, will partner Andre Agassi.
The similarities between these four men are that all have held the World No. 1 ranking and won the US Open at least once in their careers. The USTA will allocate a portion of ticket sales to charity and community support programs.

Djokovic and Alcaraz could meet twice at this year's US Open. After their exhibition bout, they will find out whether they are projected to face off in the main draw of this year's tournament before or during the final.
The Spaniard missed out on the chance to overtake Djokovic in the rankings after his shock loss to Gael Monfils in Cincinnati. Thus, the Serbian will be the second seed at the final Grand Slam of the season, where he is the defending champion.
Alcaraz, who could potentially be the fourth seed in New York if Alexander Zverev wins the Cincinnati Open, can expect a tough draw in his quest to win his second US Open title.
He has not lost before the quarterfinal stage at a major since 2022 and is the reigning Roland Garros and Wimbledon champion. His latest meeting with Djokovic comes just a few weeks after the pair contested the men's gold medal match at the Paris Olympics.
The 37-year-old made history by becoming the oldest Olympic tennis champion when he defeated the man who was 16 years his junior in the final.
Djokovic did not lose a set during the tournament, and this doubles match at the US Open will be his first non-official tennis match since August 4th.
