Carlos Alcaraz and Rafael Nadal are set to collide at the upcoming Netflix Slam, and the organizers are looking to ramp up the excitement by including add-on experiences for attendees.
The Netflix Slam will be headlined by the two titans of Spanish men's tennis, but a series of matches will also be scheduled at the Michelob ULTRA Arena at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada, on March 3rd.
Tennis enthusiasts will also have the chance to bond with the two stars in private and group sessions. They will have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to watch Alcaraz and Nadal in close quarters and get to play and learn from them.
Those looking to partake in this special adventure will need to fork out a whopping $150,000 for a one-on-one session with either Alcaraz or Nadal. Group clinics, which will be conducted by both players simultaneously, will cost $50,000 per person.
A section of naysayers have labeled the match as a clash of cash with courtside tickets fetching as high as $3,000. Right now, though, the presence of both players jetting into Las Vegas is the subject of increased anxiousness.
Nadal has been recovering from a hip injury that he sustained while competing at the Brisbane International last month, and he had to pull out from this week's Qatar Open so he can prioritize his recovery. Alcaraz, meanwhile, injured his ankle while playing at the Rio Open.
But the 20-year-old breathed a huge sigh of relief at the news that he will only miss a few days of action after undergoing an MRI scan and consulting with his doctors and physio.
Other tennis players who will be involved in some capacity at the Netflix Slam include Taylor Fritz, Frances Tiafoe, and retired pros John Isner and Sam Querrey, but group clinics involving the quartet are scheduled on March 4th, which would be 24 hours from Alcaraz and Nadal battling on the court.
