The final ATP Masters 1000 event of 2024 will take place at the Paris Masters, and the entry list has been released.

This year's edition of the indoor hardcourt tournament in the French Capital will be held from October 28th to November 3rd. It is the only Masters 1000 event on the ATP calendar held indoors.

The 2024 Paris Masters is set to be the final iteration held at the Accor Arena, the venue for the tournament since 1980, before moving to a bigger stadium in an attempt to help the event grow further.

Tom Okker won the first edition of the Paris Masters in 1969. Since then, Roger Federer, Andy Murray, Pete Sampras, Andre Agassi, Boris Becker, and Goran Ivanisevic have all secured the title at least once.

Novak Djokovic, who recently apologized for missing fans at the airport in China following a misunderstanding, is the most successful player in the tournament's history with seven titles.

The Serbian is also the defending Paris Masters champion. He defeated his good friend Grigor Dimitrov in straight sets in last year's final to claim an unprecedented seventh title at the event.

Tournament organizers will be thrilled that Djokovic is on the entry list for the 2024 Paris Masters. How the Olympic gold medalist performs in France could determine whether he qualifies for the year-end ATP Finals.

Despite previously saying he was done with events outside of Grand Slams and representing Serbia, Djokovic signing up for the ongoing Shanghai Masters and the Paris Masters may mean he cares more about the ATP Finals than he indicated.

Jannik Sinner will try to add another achievement to his excellent season in Paris. The 23-year-old may have already confirmed his place as the year-end world No. 1 by the time the 2024 Paris Masters starts depending on results in the next few weeks.

Sinner has already won Masters 1000 titles at the Miami Open and the Canadian Open in 2024. He could also earn a bonus of $615,000 for his performances at ATP 500 tournaments, showing his consistency throughout the season.

Carlos Alcaraz, the other standout player this year after winning the French Open and Wimbledon, will try to play as well as he did at the China Open, where he won the title after a brutal final against Sinner.

The Spaniard has not won a title or reached a final at an indoor tournament. However, if he retains his high level after suffering a shock defeat at the US Open to Botic van de Zandschulp, Alcaraz could change that statistic.

Several other players on the 2024 Paris Masters entry list are currently attempting to qualify for the ATP Finals. Daniil Medvedev is in a very strong position in fourth in the race to Turin and will likely join Alcaraz, Sinner, and Alexander Zverev at the event.

Taylor Fritz, Casper Ruud, Andrey Rublev, Alex de Minaur, Grigor Dimitrov, Tommy Paul, and Stefanos Tsitsipas could all still be in the running for ATP Finals qualification, adding an intriguing storyline when the tournament in Paris begins.
