The eighth edition of the Los Cabos Open will take in the Mexican resort city of Los Cabos from February 19th to 24th.
Historically held annually every August, the 2024 Los Cabos Open has been allocated a new spot in the ATP calendar and will serve as a preparatory tournament for the spring hard court season in North America.
Tennis players who are fond of this tournament will certainly note a change in the weather pattern, as temperatures tend to be pleasantly cooler in February. This ATP 250 event will bring together an incredibly talented group of players, possibly its finest since the tournament's inception in 2016.
The tournament's appeal has enabled it to sign up as many as four Top 10 players, including the defending champion Stefanos Tsitsipas. The Greek star won his solitary ATP title last year in these parts and faced a Top 10 exit following this year's Australian Open fourth-round defeat.
But the top seed will be Germany's Alexander Zverev, the highest-ranked player in the field and set to make his debut. Denmark's Holger Rune recently accepted a wild card into Montpellier but must adjust to the timing and weather when he flies to Mexico.
Rune will be the third seed, while Alex de Minaur, who lost last year's final to Tsitsipas, completes the list of Top 10 entrants. Casper Ruud and Christopher Eubanks are expected to pose an interesting challenge on hard courts at altitude, while British one-hander is always a danger on the surface.
Three players will enter the main draw with a wild card, and these are: Diego Schwartzman, Ernesto Escobedo, and former junior No. 1 Rodrigo Pacheco. Be sure to check the complete entry list of the 2024 Los Cabos Open down below.
