The 2023 Newport Open is the last grass-court tournament in the ATP calendar and it will be played from July 17th to 23rd.
The ATP 250 event in Newport, also called the Hall of Fame Open offers $718,245 in prize money, and it will welcome a competitive field of players looking to prolong their grass-court season, which is in general very short.
The entry list in 2023 promises to be as interesting as ever and that's thanks to multiple reasons. Kevin Anderson is making a surprising return to tennis and it can't be anywhere else than on the grass court.
But the field will be very competitive with the likes of Tommy Paul, Maxime Cressy, Ugo Humbert, and Max Purcell signing up for the tournament which is the last grass-court event in the calendar, held immediately after Wimbledon.
The total prize money distributed at the tournament equals to $718,245 and the distribution starts at $6,895 and 0 ATP points for a first-round exit. For making it to the second round, players get 20 points and $11,280, while the quarterfinalists will all earn $19,425 and 45 points.
For reaching the semifinals, players will be rewarded with 90 points and $33,525, while the runner-up at the tournament gets 150 points and $57,025. The champion of the 2023 Newport Open gets the biggest cheque, taking home $97,760 in prize money and 250 ATP points.
