The 2023 Munich Open will run from April 17th to 23rd and the draw for this ATP 250 tournament was released.

Last year, Holger Rune won the tournament and drove home in a brand-new BMW. The 2023 Munich Open, which is also referred to as the BMW Open, is one of the few tournaments that gives a car to the champion and players will fight for one also this year. The first-seeded Dane will begin his title defence against either Thiago Monteiro or Yannick Hanfman in the second round.

Home fans will be certainly happy to see Alexander Zverev back on the courts in Munich as the German will start his journey against Christopher O'Connell or Ugo Humbert. Another of the Germans in the draw, Jan-Lennard Struff will want to follow up on a good Monte Carlo showing and start well against one of the qualifiers in Munich.

Dominic Thiem may be facing a difficult obstacle in his quest to regain consistency, but it may turn also into a blessing in disguise. The Austrian is set to play against Constant Lestienne in the first round and he may meet the eighth-seeded Marc-Andrea Huesler or Kyle Edmund in the second round.

However, if he was to make it into the quarterfinals, Thiem could face the second-seeded Taylor Fritz. However, the American, who is scheduled to play against Marton Fucsovics or Max Hans Rehberg in the second round, is doing well in Monte Carlo and he may elect to withdraw from the tournament to recover for the upcoming packed schedule.
