The 2023 Barcelona Open is here, the draw is confirmed, and the defending champion Carlos Alcaraz is back in action.

From April 17th to 23rd, one of the most prestigious ATP 500 events will be played in Barcelona, Spain and all eyes will be on the defending champion Carlos Alcaraz. Last year, the Spaniard defeated Pablo Carreno-Busta in the final, but this year, his fellow compatriot was forced to withdraw from the event played at the Real Club de Tennis Barcelona.

The tournament was also marked by the absence of Rafael Nadal who withdrew from the tournament due to insufficient preparation. Therefore, the first-seeded Alcaraz may have an easier route to the title on his title defence as he will start against Ilya Ivashka or Nuno Borges in the second round of the tournament.

The 2023 Barcelona Open features a 48-player draw and so the first 16 seeds have a BYE in the round of 64. The second-seeded Stefanos Tsitsipas is one of them and he will want to forget the Monte-Carlo disappointment in Barcelona as he'll play against either Pedro Cachin or Gijs Brouwer in the second round.

The third-seeded player in the tournament is Casper Ruud. The Norwegian had a terrible start to the season, but he recently turned it around with a triumph in Estoril. He will want to follow up on that victory in Barcelona as he's set to play against the winner of an all-American match between Ben Shelton and Mackenzie McDonald.

The fourth-seeded Jannik Sinner won't have a lot of time to recover as he's enjoying a deep run in Monte Carlo, but the Italian will start his Barcelona campaign against Diego Schwartzman or Yibing Wu.

The draw features a lot of names that can make it deep in Barcelona such as Frances Tiafoe, Cameron Norrie, Karen Khachanov, and Denis Shapovalov so be sure to check the full 2023 Barcelona Open ATP Draw below.
