The 2023 Barcelona Open is one of the most anticipated clay-court events and the prize money and points on offer is one of the reasons why.
With many ATP 1000 events played on clay and the peak in Roland Garros, it's difficult for players to find tournaments where the competition isn't so high. Therefore, the 2023 Barcelona Open may present a great combination of high-quality event but a smaller field of players.
Nonetheless, the field is very strong every year as Rafael Nadal won the trophy in Barcelona 12 times, and in 2023, he will want to add his 13th. He will be joined by the likes of Carlos Alcaraz, who is a defending champion, and Casper Ruud and Stefanos Tsitsipas.
All of them will be fighting for a share of 2,722,480€ that will be distributed to the players. Out of that, the winner will take 477,795 and 500 points, a 2% increase from the last season. On the other hand, a defeated finalist in Barcelona will go home with 254,825€ and 300 points.
The ATP 500 event, which is played at the Real Club de Tenis Barcelona rewards everyone from the first round as players get 10,615€ for the first-round exit, but no points.
Those that lose in the second round are rewarded already with 20 points and 19,910€, while the third-round losers get 45 points and 36,365€. To get a full overview of the prize money and points distribution at the 2023 Barcelona Open, check it out below.
