While women are about to kick off the Billie Jean King Cup campaigns, the focus of ATP fans is on Monaco, where the 2022 Monte-Carlo Masters is played.
Simona Halep is currently recovering and training at the Mouratoglou Tennis Academy, after appointing Patrick Mouratoglou as her new coach, which is located in France. That is only around 50 kilometers away from where the 2022 Monte-Carlo Masters is taking part.
While Halep's new coach, Patrick Mouratoglou, went to visit the tournament, the 30-year-old Romanian joined him and enjoyed some of the best men's tennis in the Monte-Carlo Country Club.
After losing in the semifinals of the 2022 Indian Wells, Simona Halep should soon return to the courts with her new coach supporting her comeback, but before, the two have witnessed some of the action at the first ATP Masters 1000 event on the clay courts in 2022.
They didn't get to see the world no. 1 on the ATP Tour, Novak Djokovic, as the Serbian crashed out in his opening match of the tournament. However, during his stay in Monaco, he managed to meet football stars Neymar Jr. and Marco Verratti, but it seemed that Halep was there to gain some inspiration from fellow colleagues rather than meet other stars.
After the departure of the 20-time Grand Slam champion, Stefanos Tsitsipas and Alexander Zverev remain two of the biggest favorites to win the 2022 Monte-Carlos Masters.
While the Greek is the defending champion, the German player is the highest seed remaining in the draw, and they are on a collision course already in the semifinals of the tournament, meaning that it won't be a direct showdown for the title.
When it comes to Halep, she will want to get healthy as soon as possible, and then prove once again why she was the world no. 1 on the WTA Tour.
