Caroline Wozniacki played well in Indian Wells and at the Miami Open, she will take on Clara Burel in her first match.
Wozniacki spends part of the year in Miami, as she has a home there, so many assume that she'll do really well at the WTA 1000 event. It's a fair assumption to make, however, Burel might have some things to say about that.
The French player has had a really strong season so far and impressed against Coco Gauff in Indian Wells. She won't be an easy match for Wozniacki, but the Danish player showed a really solid level in Indian Wells as well.
Let's see what might happen when these two clash in a really fascinating round-one matchup of the upcoming Miami Open.
Wozniacki and Burel have never played against each other, which shouldn't surprise anybody. Burel has been around for a while, but it wasn't until this year that she really won consistently. Wozniacki retired a few years ago and only came back last year.
Despite that, we can still make some assumptions based on how they play. Wozniacki might actually fancy her chances here because Burel plays a very aggressive style that isn't the most consistent.

Wozniacki had the most success as a tennis player by countering those types of players, and she's very good at it. She might not be as quick as she once was, but be assured that she'll be ready for much of what Burel can do on a tennis court.
I think the French player has little chance of winning this matchup because I've been impressed with Wozniacki recently. I think she'll do just enough to win.
Prediction: Caroline Wozniacki to win in two sets.
