After battling Emma Raducanu in the previous round, Aryna Sabalenka will now face Emma Navarro at the 2024 Indian Wells Open.
There aren't that many Emmas on the WTA Tour, but somehow, the Belarusian will play two of them in back-to-back matches at the Indian Wells Open. She first played against Raducanu and won that match in two sets, which earned her a match against Navarro.
The American is a really talented young player who might be ranked highly, but she hasn't had that much experience on the top tour. Most of her points from last year were earned in smaller events, where she dominated easily. Now, she's trying to break through on the WTA Tour.
Some things in her game can be exploited, and Sabalenka will try her best to do just that. The stakes are high, and a quarter-final is up for grabs, so expect both to be quite motivated.
Head-to-head:
As Navarro spent most of her time away from the WTA Tour, she never got a chance to play against Sabalenka. This will be their first match, and I think it will be a pretty tough one for the American. Very few players bring as much power as Sabalenka does, and Navarro doesn't have the best response to that.
She lacks power herself but does have a few tricks up her sleeve, which could make things complicated. Her best bet is to try to move Sabalenka around as much as possible, putting her in uncomfortable positions.

Prediction:
I'm not sure it will work because it hasn't previously worked against some other players. I think Sabalenka's power will simply be overwhelming, and she's pretty good at running shots. To be completely honest, I think she'll cruise in two.
Prediction: Aryna Sabalenka to win in two sets.
