The 2023 Miami Open will be yet another WTA 1000 event, and the entry list for the event has been released.

The Miami Open is one of the most popular tournaments on the calendar. Due to its prestige, the tournament organizer can attract the best players in the world, who then fight for the trophy, plenty of prize money, and valuable ranking points.

In 2022, Iga Swiatek won the title in Miami. Shortly before that, she triumphed also at the Indian Wells Open, which means that she completed the so-called "Sunshine Double."

That means she will defend both of those trophies in 2023, and the rest of the field will try to stop her from doing that. One of those players is the reigning Australian Open champion, Aryna Sabalenka.

In that, the Belarusian beat the 2022 Wimbledon champion, Elena Rybakina, who will both be big rivals for Swiatek, especially in Miami, where the courts are much faster than those in Indian Wells. That should suit the style of these two tall players with good serve.

There will also be plenty of home players who will try to use the energy from the crowd inside the Hard Rock Stadium to get far in the Miami Open draw. Coco Gauff, Jessica Pegula, Madison Keys, Amanda Anisimova, and Danielle Collins are all players who will represent the United States.

Ons Jabeur, Caroline Garcia, and Maria Sakkari have all tasted success in their careers. That's why they will be eager to try to win another title, and why not do it in Miami?

There will also be plenty of underdogs capable of having a deep run. For example, two Canadians, Bianca Andreescu and Leylah Fernandez, know how it feels like to play in a Grand Slam final, and they will try to repeat that success at this WTA 1000 tournament.
