The prize money details have been confirmed for the 2023 Miami Open. Players will take home over $8 million, which will be distributed at this ATP and WTA 1000 event.
This year, the Miami Open will be played from March 22nd to April 4th. For men, it's an ATP Masters 1000 tournament, and for women, it is a WTA 1000 tournament, which means that the event will offer the maximum amount of points that players can win outside of Grand Slams.
Overall, $8,800,000 will be distributed in prize money, and the winners will take the biggest part of that pot. The winners in both singles competitions in Miami will win $1,262,220 in prize money and 1,000 ranking points.
The list of those who will be among the favorites is long for both tours. In the ATP draw, the likes of Carlos Alcaraz, Rafael Nadal, Alexander Zverev, and Daniil Medvedev will be among those who will be the top candidates to win the trophy.
In the women's draw, the likes of Iga Swiatek, Aryna Sabalenka, Elena Rybakina, Coco Gauff, and Jessica Pegula will try to lift the trophy in Miami and take home also over $1 million.
But even if they don't win the trophy and lose in the final, the consolation prize will be very nice. Players in both draws will receive $662,360 in prize money. Men will get 600 ATP points, while women will receive 650 points.
The losing semi-finalists will both get $352,635 and 390 (WTA) points or 360 (ATP) points. On the other hand, players who lose already in the first round of the tournament will receive 10 ranking points and $18,660.
