The 2022 Madrid Open, like every year, promises to be a spectacular event, as the WTA 1000 event will be held in the Spanish capital city from April 28th to May 7th with a packed entry list.
Defending champion Aryna Sabalenka will be one of the top favorites at the 2022 Madrid Open. However, the list of former champions enrolled in the entry list of the event includes two more players.
Simona Halep has triumphed in Madrid already twice, and Petra Kvitova is a three-time champion in Madrid from years 2011, 2015, and 2018. However, in the meantime, the WTA Tour is full of young, promising talents who will try to win their first title in Madrid.
One of them is the current world number 1, Iga Swiatek, who seems to be unstoppable in the 2022 season. Paula Badosa is also one of the players to watch, as the Spaniard will receive support from the home crowd.
