Mirra Andreeva keeps crushing the opposition as she already made it to the third round of the 2023 Roland Garros.

Over the past few years, the WTA Tour hasn't seen as many talents as the young Russian. Coco Gauff was probably the last one but now, there's another name to follow for tennis fans. Mirra Andreeva made headlines already at the Madrid Open, but her journey continues also on the Parisian clay.

She had to go through the qualifying in the French capital, but she won all three matches in two sets, and she defeated Alison Riske-Amritraj in the first round, also in straight sets to set up a second-round match with Diane Parry from France.

Although Parry was coming off a triumph at WTA 125 event in Paris, and stunned the 25th-seeded Anhelina Kalinina in the first round, she just couldn't match the intensity and the precision of her 16-year-old opponent.

In the first set, Andreeva broke already in the second game, and she added one more break in the sixth game, never allowing her opponent to have a break point. Thanks to that, she won the first set 6-1 and looked to finish yet another match in two sets.

The Russian was broken in the second set, but since she broke her opponent's service three times, she once again comfortably won the set to triumph in the match 6-1, 6-2 and book a third-round spot at the 2023 Roland Garros.

Moreover, she's now sure to break into the Top 100 of the WTA Rankings after the tournament. Andreeva could raise to 97th place, depending on other results, but she can go even further.

In the next round, the Russian may face last year's finalist Coco Gauff, who is the sixth seed at the tournament. However, the American first needs to beat Julia Grabher in the second round to set up a clash of two teenagers.
