Jannik Sinner retains a massive lead at No. 1, but it was slightly cut in the latest ATP rankings. Novak Djokovic and Ben Shelton's rankings were among those whose ranking improved.
Sinner won his second Australian Open and third Grand Slam overall by defeating Alexander Zverev in Sunday's final. It was a one-sided affair that he won comfortably, 6-3, 7-6, 6-3 on the Rod Laver Arena.
The Italian was defending 2,000 points before the Australian Open after his success last year at Melbourne Park but avoided losing any of those points by retaining the title after dropping just two sets throughout the tournament.
Being defeated in a third Grand Slam final and failing to win a first major title was a heartbreaking moment for Zverev. No other news would make that devastating moment any easier for the 27-year-old.
Zverev was at least responsible for a modest reduction in Sinner's lead at No. 1. The German had 500 points added to his total after improving on a semifinal run last year at the season's opening Grand Slam.
However, Zverev is still close to 4,000 points behind Sinner. The world No. 1 is on 11,830, and Zverev is the nearest player to him in the rankings at 8,135. That leaves the Australian Open runner-up with a considerable 3,695 points to make up.
Novak Djokovic reached the semifinal of the tournament he has won ten times. That included a thrilling quarterfinal win against Carlos Alcaraz after struggling with an injury in the opening two sets.
Unfortunately, that injury, a muscle tear in his left leg, led to him retiring after the first set of the semifinal with Zverev. Reaching that stage was still good enough for Djokovic to rise a spot to No. 6.
Daniil Medvedev had the most significant drop of any player in the Top 10 from No. 5 to No. 7. Last year's Australian Open runner-up paid the price for losing in the second-round to Learner Tien in a five-set thriller.
Carlos Alcaraz at No. 3, Taylor Fritz at No. 4, Casper Ruud rising a place to No. 5, Alex de Minaur at No. 8, Tommy Paul moving up two spots to No. 9, and Andrey Rublev dropping one position to No. 10 completes the Top 10.
Ben Shelton was one of the biggest movers after his semifinal run at the Australian Open. The 22-year-old moved six places from No. 20 to No. 14. Sinner ended his impressive tournament in the semifinal.
Stefanos Tsitsipas fell one place to No. 13. The two-time Grand Slam runner-up lost in the opening round of the Australian Open to Alex Michelsen, who now sits at No. 36 after reaching the fourth round.
Grigor Dimitrov was the only player to drop out of the Top 10. The Bulgarian is now No. 11 after retiring from his first-round match at the Australian Open with a physical issue.
Other ATP ranking changes include Arthur Fils entering the Top 20 at No. 19, Australian Open quarterfinalist Lorenzo Sonego jumping 20 places to No. 35, and Learner Tien catapulting from No. 121 to No. 80.
