Novak Djokovic's chances of continuing his high-profile partnership with Andy Murray look positive after a recent report.

Murray, who played Djokovic in seven Grand Slam Finals during his career, was announced as the Serbian's next coach during the off-season. Their first tournament together was at the recent 2025 Australian Open.

The season's opening Grand Slam ended in heartbreak for Djokovic after he retired from his semifinal against Alexander Zverev because of a tear in his left hamstring, the pain eventually becoming too much to bear.

It was a shame for the ten-time Australian Open champion because his level had been excellent until that moment, including an outstanding four-set triumph against Carlos Alcaraz, which saw him embrace Murray at the end of the match.

Despite that disappointing ending, Djokovic was very appreciative of Murray's presence and said his feedback on their partnership was positive. However, neither man committed to extending it further.

A report from The Times states that Murray will probably continue working with his former rival. The pair are still in discussions, but the indication at this stage is that the Briton is more likely to stay on than leave Djokovic's team.

However, that does mean Murray will be with the 24-time Grand Slam champion for every event. For instance, he is unlikely to travel to next week's 2025 Qatar Open in Doha, a tournament Djokovic should be fit for after recovering strongly from his Australian Open injury.

A more likely next tournament for Murray is the 2025 Indian Wells Open. That begins next month and is considered by many to be one of the most significant events on the calendar despite not being a Grand Slam.

The Times expects Murray to work with Djokovic until at least Wimbledon. Many believe the two-time Wimbledon winner was brought in mainly because he can relate to playing on the most significant stages and help Djokovic in important moments.

While there has been nothing official yet from Djokovic or Murray, this is still encouraging news for fans who loved seeing the two men who had an epic rivalry on the court working together to try and win matches.

Murray could be particularly useful to Djokovic at Wimbledon because of his successes at his home Grand Slam. The Serbian might need any help he can get after losing the last two finals to Carlos Alcaraz.

Few thought that Djokovic would struggle most against Alcaraz on grass. The seven-time Wimbledon champion admitted in his 2023 runner-up speech that he did not expect to be challenged by the Spaniard on grass so quickly.

Djokovic's immediate focus before possibly reuniting with Murray at the Indian Wells Open will be next week's tournament in Doha. It will allow him to see if he has fully recovered from the muscle tear and is ready to compete at the highest level.

His upcoming appearance in Doha shows Djokovic is serious about playing more tournaments in 2025 compared to the last few years, something he spoke about before the season began.
