'Super Down To Earth': Frances Tiafoe Details 'Drinking All Day' With Taylor Swift

Frances Tiafoe generated attention last year after being pictured with Taylor Swift and her boyfriend, Travis Kelce. The American recently recalled meeting Swift for the first time.
Tiafoe and his girlfriend, Ayan Broomfield, attended an NFL match in November between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Denver Broncos. The pair watched the game from a private suite, which is where they met Swift and Kelce, who is an NFL player.
After he and Broomfield met the pair, they struck up an accord and spent much of the day together. Pictures of them with Swift and Kelce on Broomfield's Instagram page went viral and generated much attention.
Tiafoe remembered the experience in an interview with TennisTV before the 2025 Mexican Open. Despite not being a hardcore fan of Swift's music, he appreciates her talent and respects the pop star even more after discovering how nice she is.
"We go into the suite. The first person we see in the suite is Taylor. And I'm like, okay, don't try to act like you've been here before. And so it's crazy because, you know, like I'm not even saying I'm Swiftie, but like I appreciate greatness so much. And seeing how cool she was, she's got my ultimate respect. First off, she was very knowledgeable about what I was doing."
"She's like, man, we wanted to watch you play in the final and this and that at the [US] Open. And she's like, Trav [Travis Kelce] loves you and this and that. And we were drinking all day together. She was so cool. One of the most humble people for who she is. Super down to earth. She's amazing. And hopefully we can do that again."
It is always refreshing to hear of celebrities being nice people. Swift is the most popular artist on the planet, which must lead to anxiety and stress because of the lack of privacy she gets from having fans all over the world.
Tiafoe will hope to improve his form and results on the court after a slow start to 2025. He began the new season by losing in the round of 16 at the 2025 Brisbane International to the huge-serving Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard.
Two weeks later, Tiafoe was defeated in the second round of the 2025 Australian Open after a five-set thriller against Fabian Marozsan. Although Marozsan played well, it was a match Tiafoe should have won.
The American suffered another disappointing loss in the round of 16 at the 2025 Dallas Open. It has not been an ideal start to the year, but there is still much time for Tiafoe to correct things and go on a good run of form.
Tiafoe has not found his best tennis since his heartbreaking 2024 US Open semifinal loss to Taylor Fritz that Swift and Kelce mentioned when they met him. It was his second five-set defeat in a US Open semifinal.
Lingering pain from the match against Fritz might have partially led to his extraordinary rant at the umpire in a match at the 2024 Shanghai Masters after losing a first serve for a second time violation.
