Emma Raducanu called out the top players for complaining about the tennis calendar being overly packed.
While the likes of Carlos Alcaraz, Jannik Sinner, Jack Draper, Iga Swiatek and others have often raised concerns over excessive workload, Raducanu has offered a contrasting perspective.
During a chat with The Guardian, the Briton noted the rewards for grinding it out on a tough schedule have been fruitful. She admitted that their job comes with painful problems, but suggested that it is hardly different from the hardships of ordinary office life.
"I think that’s a challenge. I don’t necessarily think it’s something to complain about because it’s what we are given. And we are making a great living as well."
"I mean, it’s not all glamorous. There are definitely times when it’s very difficult and we are flagging mentally, physically, everything hurts. But at the same time, what are we going to do about it? I am sure there are certain people who go to work and their bosses make them do something, but they have to do it, it’s their job."

Also, the former US Open champion feared that constant complaining from big names in the sport might send a wrong message to young tennis aspirants.
"If we put up a front that isn’t complaining, I think that is a better example to the people watching, trying to get into tennis, the younger people. If they see all the top players moaning about the calendar, I don’t think that’s necessarily inspiring to look up to."
For the record, Raducanu earned an impressive $1,450,476 in prize money on the WTA Tour this year.

Emma Raducanu ended her season early this year

Emma Raducanu ended her season early this year due to illness. After crashing out of the Ningbo Open in the first round in October, she flew back home for recovery.
Raducanu was slated to play two more tournaments, in Tokyo and Hong Kong, but abandoned those plans.
She played all the Grand Slams this season for the first time since 2022. She reached the third round at all those tournaments except the French Open, where she lost in the second round.
Overall, the 23-year-old played 52 singles matches on the WTA Tour this season. She ended with a 28-22 record, receiving a bye twice.
Her best run for the season came in the Citi Open. There, she defeated the likes of Marta Kostyuk, Naomi Osaka and Maria Sakkar before losing to Anna Kalinskaya in the semifinals. Besides, she made it to the quarterfinals at the Miami Open and Queen’s Club Championships.
Raducanu dropped out of top 60 at the turn of the year but achieved consistency to finish the year as the World No. 29.
