Emma Raducanu called out the top players for complaining about the tennis calendar being overly packed.
While the likes of Carlos Alcaraz, Jannik Sinner, Jack Draper,
Iga Swiatek and others have often raised concerns over excessive workload,
Raducanu has offered a contrasting perspective.
During a chat with
The Guardian, the Briton noted the rewards
for grinding it out on a tough schedule have been fruitful. She admitted that their
job comes with painful problems, but suggested that it is hardly different from
the hardships of ordinary office life.
"I think that’s a challenge. I don’t necessarily think it’s
something to complain about because it’s what we are given. And we are making a
great living as well."
"I mean, it’s not all glamorous. There are definitely times
when it’s very difficult and we are flagging mentally, physically, everything
hurts. But at the same time, what are we going to do about it? I am sure there
are certain people who go to work and their bosses make them do something, but
they have to do it, it’s their job."

complaining from big names in the sport might send a wrong message to young tennis
aspirants.
"If we put up a front that isn’t complaining, I think that is
a better example to the people watching, trying to get into tennis, the younger
people. If they see all the top players moaning about the calendar, I don’t
think that’s necessarily inspiring to look up to."
For the record, Raducanu earned an impressive $1,450,476 in prize money on the
WTA Tour this year.

to Anna Kalinskaya in the semifinals. Besides, she made it to the quarterfinals
at the Miami Open and Queen’s Club Championships.
Raducanu dropped out of top 60 at the turn of the year but achieved
