2025 Mexican Open Acapulco ATP Draw With Shelton, Tiafoe, Zverev

The 2025 Mexican Open is one of the two ATP 500 events before the Sunshine Double, and the draw for the tournament in Acapulco has been released.
The Mexican Open in Acapulco, officially called the Abierto Mexicano Telcel, is one of the most popular ATP 500 tournaments on the ATP calendar.
Recently, the tournament has struggled a lot, not because of a lack of interest from fans or players but because of a natural disaster that flooded the stadium.
Still, the tournament organizers managed to get everything ready for the 2025 edition of the tournament, which will run from February 24th until March 1st.
Alex de Minaur won the last two editions of this tournament, but this year, he surprisingly chose to compete at the Dubai Championships instead.
After disappointing results in South America, Alexander Zverev will want to get back on the winning path in Acapulco. He will be the top seed in Acapulco and play against Matteo Arnaldi in the first round of the tournament.
On the opposite side of the draw is the second-seeded Casper Ruud. The Norwegian player hasn't been in top form recently either, and he will try to change that in the first round against Arthur Rinderknech.
Although Taylor Fritz and Sebastian Korda both withdrew from the tournament, there will still be plenty of American players competing in Acapulco.
The third-seeded Tommy Paul is one of them, and on paper, he received the easiest draw. Paul will start against one of the qualifiers in the first round.
On the other hand, the fifth-seeded Ben Shelton will have to take on a talented player. The American will meet Flavio Cobolli in his first-round match.
The seventh-seeded Frances Tiafoe, on the other hand, will play against a player who has been playing some inspired tennis lately. He beat Joao Fonseca, Tomas Martin Etcheverry, and Francisco Cerundolo in Rio de Janeiro.
Another exciting name in the draw is Holger Rune. The Danish player withdrew from the Rio Open, but he will be back in Acapulco as the fourth seed. Rune will start against Roberto Carballes Baena.
There will also be many exciting first-round matches. One of them will see Denis Shapovalov take on Cameron Norrie, with the winner possibly playing against the top-seeded Zverev.
