The 2025 Marseille Open is one of three tournaments held next week. However, its prize money is the most significant of the three.

First played in 1993, the Marseille Open has been played every year since. It was one of the tournaments that did not skip a year during the COVID-19 pandemic, occurring with restrictions in place. In 2025, it will be held from February 10th to 16th.

Roger Federer, Boris Becker, and Juan Martin Del Potro, who played his final career match during an exhibition against Novak Djokovic, are among the former winners of the tournament held in France.

Ugo Humbert won his home event last year by defeating Grigor Dimitrov in the final. He played superbly in that contest and blew the Bulgarian away with powerful hitting from start to finish in the ATP 250 tournament.

Humbert is among the players on the entry list for this year's Marseille Open. If he does not withdraw from his home event, he will be the No. 2 seed. The Frenchman will be well rewarded if he wins the tournament again.

The 2025 Marseille Open champion will receive €112,660 and 250 ranking points. Although the event has always attracted top players, past winners have not always received a six-figure sum for their efforts.

The losing finalist at the 2025 Marseille Open will also receive good rewards. For coming so close to securing the title, that player is guaranteed to receive 165 ranking points and €65,730.

Dimitrov's semifinal battle with Karen Khachanov last year was among the best of the 2024 season. He edged to victory in a deciding set tiebreak after surviving Khachanov's incredible shot-making during the match.

Hubert Hurkacz, who won the 2023 Montpellier Open, was the other losing semifinalist last year. The two men who fall at that stage next week will receive 100 ranking points and €38,640 for making it that far.

Four players will make it to the quarterfinals before being eliminated. Those four men will walk away from the tournament with 50 ranking points and €22,385. That is not bad for winning two main draw matches in Marseille.

Just one victory is needed to reach the round of 16 at the 2025 Marseille Open, except for the top 4 seeds, who will receive byes to that stage. €13,000 will be added to those players' bank accounts, and 25 ranking points will be added to their total.

As always, players who lose in the opening round of an ATP 250 tournament will not receive ranking points. However, being in the main draw guarantees players €7,945, regardless of whether they advance further.

Daniil Medvedev is set to be the No. 1 seed this year after accepting a wild card into the event. The 2021 US Open champion split from Gilles Simon at the beginning of this week after almost a year of being in his team.

Medvedev also generated headlines after furiously ranting at the umpire during his opening-round victory at the ongoing Rotterdam Open after being given a time violation that he deemed unfair.
