The 2025
Jiangxi Open in Jiujiang will be one of the last three
WTA 250 events held in the last week of this season.
This season on the WTA Tour will end with three WTA 250 tournaments. Those will be held in Hong Kong, Chennai, and Jiujiang. The Jiangxi Open used to be held in Nanchang at the Nanchang International Tennis Center, but it moved to the Jiujiang International Tennis Center in Jiujiang in 2024.
The first edition of the Jiangxi Open in Jiujiang was won by Viktorija Golubic, who beat Rebecca Sramkova in the final of the tournament. This year, Golubic will return to Jiujiang to defend her title.
Last year, players competed for a total of $267,082 in
prize money. This year, the total prize money was increased to $275,094. If Golubic wins the title again this year, she will earn $36,300 for her efforts and 250 WTA ranking points.
The past champions of this tournament include the likes of Peng Shuai, Jelena Jankovic, and Katerina Siniakova. All of the won when the tournament in Nanchang. Wimbledon champion Elena Rybakina is one of the runners-up of the event. She lost in the final of the tournament in 2019.
In 2019, Rybakina received $21,400 for losing in the final. This year, the losing finalist will be awarded a bit more. The runner-up at the 2025 Jiangxi Open will leave the tournament with 163 WTA ranking points and $21,484.
The last three tournaments of this season, held between October 27th to November 2nd, won't decide about the eight players competing at the WTA Finals, as that tournament starts on November 1st, so during the final stages of these events.
That's why the likes of
Alycia Parks,
Liudmila Samsonova, and
Yulia Putintseva will have a chance to score big prize money and points at this event. Those who make it to the semi-finals will receive $11,970 and 98 ranking points.
There will be a reward for everyone competing. Players who lose in the opening round of the tournament are guaranteed one ranking point and $3,110. For winning one match, the players will significantly increase their winnings, as those who lose in the second round will get 30 points and $4,470.
Four losing quarter-finalists at the 2025 Jiangxi Open will get $6,820 and 54 ranking points. Many lower-ranked players at the event will have a chance to reach this stage due to the weaker fields in the final weeks of the season.
