Novak Djokovic and Nick Kyrgios never seemed to see each other eye to eye, but their relationship has improved this season, and the two men will face each other in the 2022 Wimbledon final.

Kyrigos is normally very fast at voicing his disapproval when he dislikes something, especially fellow players, but he's also willing to give encouragement whenever he sees fit.

It's fair to say Djokovic has dealt with both facets of the fiery Australian's character in his career. He endured criticism from what Kyrgios perceived as forced love from the tennis fanbase, which included many admirers of Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer.

But earlier this season, Kyrgios had a different view of Djokovic's personality when he was embroiled in a legal battle with the Australian government over his visa and vaccination status when he entered the country to play the Australian Open.

And as fate would have it, the two players will contest this year's showpiece final at Wimbledon. It will be Kyrgios' first Grand Slam in singles and second overall after capturing the Australian Open men's doubles title earlier this season with Thanasi Kokkinakis.

He teased Djokovic by softening him, posting on social media that they're now friends and have buried the hatched over their previous hatred of each other.

The Serbian quickly responded in a joking way and accepted his opponent's offer, provided the winner of Sunday's final pays for drinks. Djokovic will be pursuing a seventh Wimbledon title, which will tie him with his childhood idol, Pete Sampras, and put him one behind Roger Federer.

"If you are inviting me for a drink or dinner, I accept. P.S. Winner of tomorrow pays."

The exchange didn't end there as the 27-year-old Australian responded once more. One thing is certain: we can expect fireworks at the championship match.

"Deal, let's go to a night club and go nuts."
