WATCH: Novak Djokovic practices with his son Stefan at Wimbledon

Novak Djokovic had a very familiar sparring partner during his recent practice session at the 2022 Wimbledon Championships.

Djokovic cruised into the third round of Wimbledon as he pursues his seventh title, which would put him just one shy of Roger Federer's record haul of eight trophies at the All England Club.

The defending champion downed South Korea's Soonwoo Kwon in his opening match in four sets and then got the better of Australia's Thanasi Kokkinakis in straight sets. In the third round, he will play fellow Serbian Miomir Kecmanovic for a spot in the second week.

But on his day off, Djokovic practiced with his seven-year-old son Stefan at Aorangi Park, where he introduced him to the surroundings and let him experience what it is like to play on the surface.

Footage released on Twitter shows Stefan Djokovic's excellent mastery of his shots from his father, without a doubt, who is considered one of the greatest tennis players of all time.

When Djokovic won the 2022 Italian Open earlier this year, he later revealed that his son triumphed at a tournament on the same day, so it seems that Stefan Djokovic is following in his father's footsteps.

"Well, the journey as tennis parent started successful. My son won the tournament today. A sunshine double today. It's a very small club tournament. Obviously it doesn't really matter. The result is secondary. It was nice to see him playing".

After he won his first-round match at this year's Wimbledon, Djokovic said he was cherishing every moment in the company of his son, who gets to watch him from close quarters, and to him, it is a surreal moment.

"Yeah, Stefan was there today. It's always special for me the feeling to play in front of my son. I didn't have too many opportunities in my life to have that kind of sensation and experience. It's always very unique."
