Andre Agassi has shared footage of him out on court, having not played for over a year, according to his own words.
Agassi, who retired over 17 years ago after a loss to Benjamin Becker, has not been focused much on tennis in recent times; instead, he has been involved in pickleball, which included him jokingly responding to cheating accusations from Andy Roddick.
In fact, the eight-time Grand Slam champion shared the surprising amount of time he has gone without playing. It has been over a year since the legend of the sport took to the court to show his skills.
That may be very surprising to many fans, considering all that Agassi achieved and the level of attention brought to it. However, he does not comment a huge amount on tennis now, for instance not taking much interest in commentary and punditry work.
Hence, his fans will be pleased to hear that he is playing in some capacity, with Agassi sharing a short message alongside the video he posted.
"First hit in over a year. Maybe I could have done something with this return game."- Agassi on first hit in a while
In the video, Agassi hits a few backhands. It is unsurprising that the eight-time Grand Slam champion chose to share this element of the clip since he is known for having one of the greatest two-handed backhands in tennis history.
And it is also not a shock that the legendary American mentions returning in the text beside the video. Agassi's return was his other great weapon, and he was often considered the best returner ever by many until Novak Djokovic reached his incredible level.
It is great when legends such as Agassi and John McEnroe, who hilariously called Agassi a chump, stay involved in the sport. Hopefully, we continue to hear more from Agassi in the future.
