Stefanos Tsitsipas has been announced as the latest name to be added to the player roster of the 2023 Rotterdam Open.
The Greek, who is bidding to become World No.1 at the ATP Finals next week, has joined former number one Daniil Medvedev and Felix Auger-Aliassime for the ATP 500 in the Netherlands in February next year.
The tournament, one of the first big events after the Australian Open, will be the 50th edition of the event in Rotterdam that over the years has welcomed top players from Bjorn Borg to Jimmy Connors, Arthur Ashe to Roger Federer.
Tsitsipas' inclusion means there is an opportunity of a rerun of last year's final, when Auger-Aliassime overcame the Greek in straight sets to claim his first career ATP Title.
Last year's event attracted a strong field, and organisers will again be hopeful of attracting men's tennis's biggest names. Andy Murray headed to the Netherlands last year to compete as did Andrey Rublev and Hubert Hurkacz.
Rotterdam also enjoys a strong date on the wheelchair tennis circuit, priding itself on its reputation for innovation and modernity.
Last year, 14,282 spectators attended the event which has recently changed its name from ABN AMRO World Tennis Tournament to ABN AMRO Open and tournament director Richard Krajicek said: "In recent years we have conducted extensive research into the significance of the tournament for sports fans in the Netherlands."
"Very helpful insights emerged here. In addition to the unique combination of top tennis and top wheelchair tennis under the same roof, the side events of the tournament particularly stand out. It is a sporting event where everyone feels welcome. We want to emphasize this open character even more."
Past winners include Rublev in 2021, Gael Monfils, Federer and Boris Becker.
