Australian tennis star Nick Kyrgios believes he has a lot to offer to tennis and is targeting to emulate his 2022 season during his comeback.

The injury-stricken Kyrgios has played one match in 2023 as injuries hamper his comeback plans. He has suffered one setback after another as he continues to get back to full health and he has confirmed his absence at this year's US Open.

It means that he'll miss all four Grand Slams this season. His ranking has fallen off a cliff in 2023 and he is projected to hit the lowest depths of the world's Top 500 after the conclusion of the US Open.

Last year, Kyrgios put together a tremendous year which culminated with a runner-up finish at Wimbledon - the high point in his career. He also won the ATP 500 event in Washington for a second time. When he reflects on these results, Kyrgios is finding motivation to get back on the court in the soonest time possible.

"To my millions of fans out there, I guess we just have to be patient. Trust me, I still have some fire left in the tank, my body just needs time to recover and get back. Everything off-court is doing great lam eyeing to come back and have a season like my last again."

Kyrgios hasn't set a return date yet, and his withdrawal from the UTS exhibition in Frankfurt in mid-September suggests he's not closer to returning to the courts anytime soon. However, the tournament organizers are hopeful he'll play a part in the third leg of the UTS in Seoul in late November.

If Kyrgios does return to the Tour before the end of the regular season, he won't be seeded and he'll have to contend with using his protected ranking status or accept wild cards at ATP tournaments.
