'I Don't Want To Stop Here': Djokovic Motivated To Get Alcaraz Revenge In Wimbledon Final

Novak Djokovic advanced to the 2024 Wimbledon Championships final, in which he will face Carlos Alcaraz, and he doesn't want to stop only on the final mark.

The Serbian did exceptionally well even to make the Wimbledon final because many wondered whether his knee would hold up after the surgery a few weeks ago. He played really well, especially in the later rounds, beating the likes of Lorenzo Musetti to find himself in the final.

A familiar face awaits him in the final, and he will face Alcaraz, who bested Daniil Medvedev in the semi-final. They played in last year's final, with the Spaniard earning a stunning win, but Djokovic is motivated to get his revenge this year.

"Every single time I find myself in this unique court, I really try to enjoy. But, obviously, during the match, it's business time, it's time to do your work, time to outplay your opponent."

Getting to the final was hugely important for the 37-year-old because Djokovic himself had some doubts before the event. It wasn't the type of doubt you have when you wonder whether you can do it; he knew he could, but with injuries, not everything was in his control.

Sometimes things happen, and you're prevented from doing what you hoped to do, so in that sense, getting to a final was very satisfactory for Djokovic, but he doesn't play for finals. He plays for trophies and he will have to go through a big rival to get this his eighth Wimbledon crown, which would equal Roger Federer's record.

"I am obviously very very satisfied, very pleased and happy to be in another final but I don't want to stop here. Hopefully, I will get my hands on that trophy on Sunday."
