Holger Rune and Daniil Medvedev will meet in one of the most anticipated quarter-final matches at the 2024 Indian Wells Open.
Arguably, the Australian Open rematch between Carlos Alcaraz and Alexander Zverev is the most anticipated quarter-final at the first ATP Masters 1000 tournament of the year, but there's one more clash of two Top 10 players.
After playing well throughout the event, Medvedev and Rune will meet for the third time in their careers. The Russian player bested the likes of Sebastian Korda and Grigor Dimitrov.
On the other hand, the young Dane was better than Lorenzo Musetti, and he also outplayed the former champion of the event, Taylor Fritz, while saving match points in the process.

The two have met two times already, and both have won one match, however, both of their previous meetings happened on the clay-courts in Monte Carlo and Rome.

Their first-ever match in Monte Carlo was won by Rune, but only a month later, Medvedev got his revenge, winning their second match in straight sets, the same way the young Dane did the month prior.
Prediction:
This match will most likely go to three sets. Both are Top 10 players, both like to play on the hard-courts, and neither of them is playing at a peak form at the moment.
At the same time, they would both appreciate a trophy so early in the season. Both had mixed results this year, and even though Medvedev reached the Australian Open final, he wasn't so convincing after that.
Still, the Russian player should have the upper hand in this match and be able to pull through in three sets, but even Rune's win wouldn't be shocking.
