Life on the ATP Tour is a bit more difficult for the lower-ranked players as Holger Rune was the last player to experience the difficulties of not being able to enter the main draw easily.

2019 Roland Garros Juniors champion, Holger Rune is still on his quest to enter Top 50 of the ATP Rankings. The young Dane might succeeded in this task after the 2022 Munich Open as it can earn him enough points to climb the rankings and be able to enter the Madrid Open next year.

This year, however, it wasn't possible for the second highest-ranked 18-years-old boy in the ATP Rankings to enter the main draw of the Madrid Open directly and he was supposed to play the qualifications. Currently, Rune plays at the Munich Open where he's scheduled to play quarterfinals on Friday after defeating the first-seeded Alexander Zverev.

Because of this clash in the schedule, he won't be able to play in Madrid this year as he announced his withdrawal on Twitter. Despite this minor setback, former junior world number 1 is positive about his future as he predicts to play in the main draw in Madrid next year.

"I have decided to withdraw from Madrid Open because the quarterfinals in Munich are played Friday and qualifications in Madrid will start Saturday. See u in Main Draw next year Madrid."
