The 2022 Davis Cup Group Stage draw was held recently, and it will be a real showdown between the best players in the world.

Sixteen nations were drawn into the event's group stage, which will run from September 14th to September 18th in four different cities. Only eight will advance to the knockout stages, which will be played in November.

Group A is in Bologna and features Croatia, Italy, Argentina, and Sweden. Technically, everyone in the group has a chance to advance. While home Italians will be the biggest favorites, Croatia, Argentina, and Sweden, all teams will have a chance.

Group B will be the one that will gather all the eyeballs. Two of the currently best players on the ATP Tour, Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal will meet in it, even though it's not clear if both of them will participate at the tournament.

It will be played in Valencia, and besides Spain and Serbia, there are also Canada and the Republic of Korea in the group. Both will try to challenge the two favored nations, but it may be a very difficult task for them.

Group C will be played in Hamburg with Germany, Belgium, Australia, and France. Similarly to Group A, it's also a highly competitive group, in which any of the teams can make it through to the next stage.

The final group is Group D in Glasgow, with Great Britain, the United States of America, Kazakhstan, and the Netherlands. The home team will be favoured, but others will try to steal the spot in the knockout stages from them.

The winners and runner-ups in the groups will go on to face each other in the Davis Cup Finals Knockout Stages in November.
