Toni Nadal gave a brief response after being asked whether Rafael Nadal would play at the 2022 Wimbledon Championships, and he strongly hinted his nephew would take part.

Nadal won the 2022 Roland Garros, lifting his 22nd Grand Slam title and becoming the first man to reach that mark. However, shortly after his triumph, the Spaniard revealed that he was playing with a numb foot.

It was a revelation that surprised everyone, especially given that he had to overcome his biggest rival, Novak Djokovic, and endure a five-set match against an inspired Felix Auger-Aliassime, who his uncle coaches.

After his triumph, the Spaniard opted for a treatment option in Barcelona for his chronic foot pain with hopes of being able to play painlessly at the 2022 Wimbledon Championships.

And it was Auger-Aliassime's coach and also Nadal's uncle, Toni Nadal, who was asked about how his nephew felt after the treatment, as the 22-time major winner was spotted the day after walking with crutches back home in Mallorca.

The Spanish coach revealed that he talked to his nephew, and during their conversation, Nadal admitted that everything hurt him.

"I talked to him. At first, he said: 'Everything hurts.' But when we spoke yesterday, he said it was much better."

But despite the pain, the Spaniard is still determined to get out there and return to practice. After winning both Grand Slams in 2022, he will be one of the favourites to win also at Wimbledon, despite never having much success at SW19 in the past.

According to Toni Nadal, his nephew wants to train, and even if he has the slightest chance to do so, he will participate in the third Grand Slam tournament of the 2022 season.

"He wants to train. And if he has a little chance, he will play at Wimbledon. He goes on the court on Monday."
