'Good-Looking' Rune Receives 10,000 Messages From Girls And Boys Says Mother Aneke

Holger Rune's mother, Aneke, recently revealed that his son has been a tennis darling because of his looks.

Rune, 20, has emerged as one of the ATP's brightest stars of the new generation. His major breakthrough on the senior tour was at the end of 2022 when he sensationally defeated Novak Djokovic to win the Paris Masters.

It was a fabulous season in which he lifted three titles overall (also Munich and Stockholm) and broke the world's Top 10 for the first time. Rune has since reached four more ATP finals, with two coming at Masters level. His output, however, waned slightly. He won the Munich Open last summer.

Recently, he joined an illustrious list of players to pick up their 100th ATP win before their 21st birthday. And while his tennis has helped him get to this level and harnessed his popularity, his looks have seemingly left many girls and boys sleepless.

Rune's mother, Aneke, is an important figure in his development, even though she stepped down as the press manager this week. Just like any responsible parent, she is a close confidante of his son's private life and revealed that Holger had received about 10,000 messages from girls and boys.

"You won't believe, there’s like 10,000 messages from girls and boys and everybody, you know, he's good-looking. He's a good-looking guy."

No wonder Rune's mohawk-inspired hairstyle at the Montpellier Open a week ago generated quite a buzz on social media. Rune is rumored to be dating Italian-Dutch model Caroline Donzella. Aneke was asked about Rune's love life but remained tight-lipped during the podcast.

"No, I can't tell you about this. This is Holger's private life. I can't tell you about this. The world is also good for him at that area."

Rune is currently in action at the UTS Tour of Oslo and is expected to play at next week's Rotterdam Open in the Netherlands, where he is the third seed. The Dane will be without coaches Severin Luthi and Boris Becker, having cut ties with both this week.
