Casper Ruud is cruising through the 2024 Miami Open draw, but he might face some stern opposition from Nicolas Jarry.
These courts play about as well as the Chilean player could possibly hope for. He's predominantly a clay player, but he can do well on some hard courts. This is one of those, as he has a powerful serve, which is at the center of what he does on a tennis court.
As long as he serves well, he'll be tough to beat in Miami, and that's been the case this year. Ruud will try, though, as the Norwegian found his best tennis again this year.
Last year was one to forget, but he's back to a good level this year, and he stood in the final at the ATP Masters 1000 tournament in Miami before. Let's see if Ruud has what it takes to go there again.

Ruud and Jarry have played a few times already. One of those was on a hard court, and it was in Seoul two years ago. Ruud was able to win that match, but Jarry returned the favour last year in Geneva.
That result is important to remember because the courts in Geneva favour good servers, and on top of that, the Norwegian is a two-time champion at the event.
His loss to Jarry there might indicate how things might go in this meeting. The most recent match at the 2023 Roland Garros was actually won by Ruud comfortably in straight sets.

Prediction:
If Jarry won this match, it certainly wouldn't be shocking. Ruud is in favor, and I do think he'll be able to win, but I think he'll need three sets. Jarry is no stranger to beating good players, as he beat Carlos Alcaraz this year.
