Alexander Zverev hopes to make a big impact at the 2024 Miami Open, but he'll need to overcome a player who made a big impact at the event last year.
Zverev is back to his former self, as his recent performances have been pretty good. He put together a really impressive few weeks in Australia and now looks to keep that going as the season slowly transitions to the clay tournament.
Zverev is a former Miami Open finalist who played in the 2018 final. He hasn't had an equally good time in recent years but looks deadly this year due to the quick court play.
His serve is a major weapon, but his next opponent has a similarly deadly weapon. Christopher Eubanks's rise started last year in Miami, when he made the quarter-final as a qualifier.
He would have some really decent showings later in the year to become a regular Top 50 player, which he is now. He's looking good this year as well so let's see if he can trouble Zverev.
Head-to-head:
Zverev and Eubanks have only played once so far, and it was in Geneva on clay. This event is quite different from the ATP Masters 1000 tournament in Miami, but there are some similarities.
The service is equally important at both events, and Zverev handled it far better. I think something similar might happen this time around because the German has the luxury of standing quite far behind the line to neutralise a good serve of his opponent.

Prediction:
Eubanks doesn't have the same kind of luxury, and quite frankly, I don't think he's equally skilled as a player. I think Zverev is the better player, and I think he will show that when the rallies develop.
Prediction: Alexander Zverev to win in two sets.
